Milja & Schäfa at Ostbahnhof couldn’t be located more perfectly – locals, expats and tourists all find their way into the deli with its Nordic touch. The menu lists homemade cake, bagel, sandwiches, burger and pasta, but also Bircher muesli and homemade lemonade which is served in hip glasses.
The atmosphere is cozy yet loungy. Enjoy the smell of fresh coffee, the view through the window front and the charivari of the people around you. The wood paneling on the wall adds a slightly Nordic touch to the atmosphere. You’re either seated on cushioned benches between comfy pillows along the walls or on a huge table in the middle of the room. Another highlight is the bar. The wall behind the bar is painted black and flowerpots with different green herbs are hanging from the ceiling to add a splash of color.
When the weather is right you can enjoy your meal in in front of the restaurant. The small and sunny area outside is a great place to observe the hustle of the train station while sipping on your cappuccino.
