Since May 2018, the casual dining restaurant at the 5-star Superior Hotel Regent Berlin has been opened as “Charlotte & Fritz”. After star chef Christian Lohse quit his job at the end of 2017 after ten years in the former Fischers Fritz, the Regent Berlin took a creative break. The restaurant closed for three months, was renovated and reopened in April 2018 with a new concept, in a refreshed ambience and with a new chef.
Chef de cuisine Jörg Lawerenz has developed the culinary concept for the restaurant. The new menu should mix specialties of the regional, fresh kitchen with influences from other countries. Many regional suppliers from Brandenburg were brought on board, such as the Rahlf farm in Mehrow, the organic dairy Lobetal and the Berlin affineur Fritz Blomeyer, which ensures high-quality raw milk cheese. Another new feature is the lunch offer, which also includes weekly changing business menus in addition to the main menu.
The interior was freshened up while retaining the valuable architectural elements of the former restaurant. A new colour concept with gray and silver tones is intended to recall the elegant Berlin salon culture of the 19th century.
The 5-star Superior Hotel Regent Berlin is centrally located in Berlin-Mitte on Gendarmenmarkt with a direct view of the French Cathedral and the Konzerthaus.
