Taverna Pikilia in Berlin-Zehlendorf is a little gem among the Greek restaurant scene in Berlin.

The Taverna Pikilia in Nikolassee is a small gem among the Greek restaurants of the German capital city. Cozily divided into several small rooms, the Taverna welcomes its visitors with a shabby-chic ambience. The yellow-washed walls are decorated with slanted gilded picture frames. The black-and-white shots show celebrities of times past from Greece and elsewhere. On the windowsills are red wine bottles and extra virgin olive oil in canisters from the Holy Cross Monastery in Greece. Tables in different sizes are ready for romantic couple evenings, but also for festive occasions of groups. The service staff is from Greece, hospitable, attentive and welcoming.

Typical Greek dishes are served such as zucchini and meatballs and zaziki as a starter and meat or fish as main course. Guests can choose between Argentinean fillet of beef, pork skewers, lamb chops, grilled chicken breast or minced pork stuffed with sheep’s cheese. Specialties such as veal cheeks, sole or entrecôte are also included on the daily menu. The dishes are accompanied by delicious Greek wines. The sweet end of the dinner is white and dark soufflés walnut cake or Greek yoghurt.

In the summer you sit comfortably outside the tavern until late in the evening.

The Greek tavern is also popular with the players of Hertha BSC, who regularly celebrate their team events here.

The restaurant also sells the delicatessen products from Greece such as olive oil and the wines to take home.
