There are many Indian restaurants in Berlin – the India Club Berlin on the back of the luxury hotel Adlon at the Brandenburg Gate is unique in Germany. The restaurant stands for light North Indian cuisine in an upscale setting. Bread, meat and vegetables are cooked very gently in real Tandoori ovens.
Typical for the Indian cuisine the India Club also uses fine and high-quality herbs and spices such as turmeric, cardamom, black mustard, curry, cinnamon, cloves, mint and precious saffron. Beef and pork is not offered at the Indian restaurant, but chicken, lamb, duck, fish, seafood and a vegetarian selection are on the menu. Poultry and lamb come from the organic farm “Gut Vorder Bollhagen” of the Jagdfeld family.
Overall, the menu is easy to read and yet varied enough to offer a good selection of traditional dishes. It is complemented by a handful of exotic cocktail creations and a selection of international wines. Various colorful chandeliers create a warm light that dips the restaurant into a romantic atmosphere. Heavy mahogany furniture and seat cushions with traditional patterns and ornaments complete the space concept and create a stylish atmosphere with an Indian touch.
The chef himself is from India and worked in the restaurant of a star hotel in Delhi. His team consists of a curry and a tandoori master as well as a German and an Italian chef who create not only authentic but also predominantly light Indian cuisine.
