The Supersonico in a neon-lit pavilion in the Wedding part of the Bernauer Straße offers tapas-sized Italian food, “Cucina Piccoli”. The popular restaurant in the neighborhood of lively Mauerpark is well attended at all times of the day. The pavilion on Bernauer Straße, formerly a printing house, is retro-themed, with an oval bar, ball lamps, bright walls and tiles, and cognac leather chairs with vintage flair. The restaurant owners Claudia-Maria and Stephan, who already run the famous Berlin food institutions “An einem Sonntag im August” and “Mein Haus am See”, are lovers of Italian cuisine and made their dream come true with the Supersonico. In their restaurant they serve Italy’s wonderful food in small portions, so that guests can try as much as possible. At Supersonico a manageable number of tapas is served. For example, there are stuffed ravioli with cheese and spinach in olive butter, sesame seaweed salad with yellow lentil cream or Argentinian entrecôte grilled with smoked paprika and beetroot cream.
During summer guests can sit in front of the restaurant at the historic Bernauer Straße – and it is worth it, because the south-facing Supersonico guarantees sunshine all day long!
