Centrally located in the City West, opposite the Europacenter and Gedächtniskirche, the new kebab shop Zaddy’s by Kaplan in Tauentzienstraße offers a contemporary version of the kebab.
Here you can have your kebab in the traditional way as veal kebab, with the usual sauces garlic, herbs or hot, but the vegetarian variant with a light, crumbly sheep’s cheese is a new addition. There is even a vegan kebab available. The bread is served classic or in a wholemeal version that is really crispy. The sauce with herbs tastes light and fresh.
The small stand is meticulously clean. Behind a glass wall fresh ingredients such as tomatoes or salad are deliciously arranged. There are hardly any long queues, although the demand is high around lunchtime, because the service (three employees at once) is fast and very friendly.
The view of Berlin’s sights is a nice add-on. In front of the kebab shop, which is protected from the rain by a small canopy, there are two stainless steel tables where you can comfortably eat your kebab – with a view of the Breitscheidplatz, the Gedächtniskirche and the Europacenter.
