On New Year’s Eve, the elegant Austernbank (oyster bank) restaurant on Gendarmenmarkt has come up with a very special New Year’s Eve in the style of the 1920s. The motto is “the big Gatsby” and there will be a special four-course New Year’s Eve dinner with show.
“Willkomm, Bienvenue, Welcome” is the title of this evening. In the restaurant Austernbank the old year ends with an evening full of moments of pleasure and the new year is welcomed with live music and a big midnight firework. The dress code is festive: evening attire, favourably in the style of the 20s.
Culinary, the four-course New Year’s Eve dinner provides unforgettable moments. It begins with Crème Brûlee of foie gras with quince chutney and brioche. Afterwards the Austernbank serves lobster in Bisque “a la Nage” with caviar. The main course will be tournedos of veal fillet in truffle jus with stuffed artichokes with leaf spinach, parmesan, tomatoes and pine nuts, served with fried radicchio. For dessert, New Year’s Eve guests are spoilt with “Mistére Glacée” with two kinds of chocolate, caramel and hazelnut. Alternatively, a vegan four-course New Year’s Eve dinner is offered.
Entrance is from 7.30 p.m., the New Year’s Eve Dinner then begins at 8.30 p.m. The NYE fireworks will start punctually at midnight. At the following party with show program and live music can be celebrated into the New Year.
