The restaurant Tulus Lotrek in Kreuzberg stands for intense aromas and spicy sauces. Since November 2017 the restaurants holds its first Michelin star.
The young owner couple with host Ilona Scholl and chef Maximilian Strohe are running restaurant Tulus Lotrek in the Fichtestrasse in Kreuzberg since 2015. After almost two years, the restaurant got its first Michelin-star.
Maximilian Strohe concentrates on intensive flavors in his restaurant. Along with the gourmet pieces of meat Strohe serves intense sauces. Taste-neutral side dishes are consistently left off.
The name of the restaurant is a hommage to the Belle-Epoque painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and stands for idiosyncratic, modern cuisine with international influences.
The Gourmet Bible Gault Millau (issue 2019) gave Max Strohe outstanding 16 points for his “penchant for unconventional combinations”. According to the jury the deer was especially praised for its “highly compacted jus with neat cinnamon and habanero pungency”. This makes the Tulus Lotrek one of the up and coming restaurants among the Berlin restaurants in the Gault Millau ranking. In 2017, Scholl had already been named hostess of the year and Strohe had been voted Up an Coming of the Year 2016 by the jury of the Berliner Meisterköche. The many prizes are no reason for the two young hosts to rest, but to look to the future full of energy and anticipation.
