The Sunday brunch at the Season restaurant in the Danish hotel Lulu Guldsmeden in the trendy Potsdamer Straße in Berlin-Tiergarten presents international delicacies with products from the region Berlin-Brandenburg.
The small Danish hotel group Guldsmeden is also consistently focusing on sustainability in its only hotel in Berlin, and this is also expressed in the kitchen of the Sæson restaurant. The young Danish chef Maja Sommer Samuelsen stands for a philosophy of fresh, uncomplicated cuisine with unconventional recipes. 85 percent of the ingredients come from organic farming in the region. The remaining organic products come from Europe to avoid long delivery routes. The restaurant has therefore been very active in looking after good suppliers from the surrounding area of Berlin. The dishes are seasonally and creatively prepared.
Thus, a beetroot carpaccio is served with fresh raspberries. Sardines are presented appetizingly on a very good light white bread and the root vegetables, which are served as a side dish with the meat, were simply but effectively baked in the oven.
A highlight of the restaurant Sæson is the Sunday brunch from 11.30 to 14.30 for 25 euros per person with international delicacies. Children from 5 to 11 years pay half for the brunch, the little ones are invited.
