Why don’t you enjoy a hearty breakfast for two on Valentine’s Day? In the Britzer Seeterrassen in the Britzer Garten, one of the most beautiful parks in Berlin, you can sit wonderfully by the water and have breakfast and eat and celebrate in the greenery. On Valentine’s Day 2019, the café prepares a “love breakfast”. In addition to bread rolls and warm delicacies served on shared plates, the couple in love can also enjoy Prosecco. Afterwards, they can spend time together on an extensive walk in the Britzer Garden and admire nature, which is already preparing for spring.
The Café im Britzer Garten, built in 1985, was extensively renovated and modernised in 2015 in around a year’s conversion time. The parquet flooring, the counter, including the counter technology, the kitchen, the heating and also the terrace were newly renovated. The interior of the new Britzer Seeterrassen was planted with Mediterranean fruit trees and herbs.
The architecture of the café is special: the innovative hilltop construction, completed in 1985, gives the impression of being one with nature. The building was designed by architect Engelbert Kremser using earth-moving techniques and literally grows out of the adjoining hill. The restaurant itself resembles a mound of earth. Funny detail: As a small culinary bow to the building, the new operators put such a hill on the plate as a “throw-up hill cake”. By the way, the entire range of cakes comes from the company’s own confectionery, especially delicious: the Altdeutsche Käsekuchen (Old German Cheese Cake).
