In France the “Jour de la Saint Valentin” is also celebrated culinarily and so the French restaurant Ganymed in Berlin has been offering a special Valentine’s menu every year for a long time. In 2019 it is simply called “Valentin” and can be booked as a 3 or 4-course menu. The individual courses one the menu are introduced with kreative names, which are to tune in for Valentine’s day.
Every year, the Chef de Cuisine conjures up a special menu from seasonal ingredients. This year the Valentine’s menu begins as a reminder of the “1st Date” with white tomato soup with crayfish tatar. Sweet papaya, Bayonn ham and burrata are served as a small “prelude”. Under the headline “Look Me in the Eyes” there is a fried monkfish on saffron risotto and a variation of red and yellow beetroot. As a “hot sweep” veal fillet on chili herb strings and French fries Dauphin is served on the table. The dessert “dream woman” seduces with lemon vanilla foam, raspberries and macarons.
In the French restaurant Ganymed directly on the Schiffbauerdamm, special menus are repeatedly developed for special occasions. After a romantic dinner you can stroll hand in hand along the Spree.
