The German Spy Museum in Berlin-Mitte is a great choice to turn a day with your kids into an exciting experience.

The German Spy Museum at Leipziger Platz has been dedicated to the world of espionage and intelligence services since 2015. As a visitor, you will encounter a fascinating exhibition with interactive and multimedia demonstration techniques and can feel like James Bond for once in your life. The journey through time begins with the first ciphers, which date back to ancient times, and continues right up to the present day. Exciting espionage operations, sophisticated techniques, spying activities and legendary secret operations are all covered. You can marvel at over a thousand exhibits and try out for yourself what it means to be a spy or agent in many areas.

As soon as you enter the espionage museum, a number of cameras capture you and you see a collage of surveillance images on the monitor wall. The museum covers an area of 3,000 square meters, which you reach through a time tunnel. Unique multimedia applications and projections bring history back to life. Using 3D glasses, you can experience everything vividly and up close, hear, feel and even smell what happened in the shadowy world of espionage.

The museum offers guided tours for school classes and families. You will come across Hitler’s Enigma cipher machine, a Stasi Trabi with an infrared camera, rare spy cameras from the CIA and the KGB, umbrellas with poisoned arrows and original props from James Bond films. There are liquid crystal displays under the exhibition showcases that provide you with all the important information about the exhibits. You can also crack codes and passwords or test your skills on a laser course like the one in the movie “Mission Impossible”.
