Charlottenburg

With the Hotel am Steinplatz, an Art Nouveau jewelery enriches the City West with a special boutique hotel of the extra class.

The Hotel am Steinplatz is the first in Germany in the Autograph Collection, a group of highly-individual boutique hotels across the globe. The architectural jewel of the Art Nouveau style has been carefully reconstructed and brought to a contemporary luxury setting.
84 individually designed rooms, a junior suite and two spa suites characterize an award-winning interior design that interprets the 1920s in a contemporary way and is based on natural materials. Individuality is the claim. All rooms differ in size and floor plan. Even the windows vary between the pointed arch and the sprout form, giving each room its own atmosphere.

Clear, gray, brown and black tones characterize the interior. The playful details like chrome-plated lights are a tribute to the 1920s. In the elegant restaurant on the Steinplatz, regional products are transformed into Berlin classics and German cuisine is reinterpreted. In the evening, guests can relax in the on-site bar at the Steinplatz and enjoy the home-brewed “Endell Ale”.

An advantage is the 330 m² Rooftop Spa, located on the top floor, offering spectacular views over the city#s rooftops, with two saunas, four treatment rooms and fitness area. There are also extravagant massages and luxurious cosmetic treatments available.
In addition to the current arrangements, the history of the building is also exciting. The Hotel am Steinplatz is an architectural masterpiece by August Endell, who also designed the Hackesche Höfe.

The building first opend as a luxury hotel in 1913 and soon took its place in Berlin’s cultural history. It soon became a meeting point for prominent Berliners and travelers such as Vladimir Nabokov oder Zarah Leander. In the 1950s the voguish basement bar became a rendezvous and private stage for articst, actors and intellectuals. Literary greats such as Heinrich Böll and Günter Grass, as well as film stars like Brigitte Bardot, and Romy Schneider were regular guests.
