Foraying for mushrooms is a fun activity in fall for adults and children alike. Not only is it an outdoor thing with lots of fresh air, in the end you even get something great to eat!

Are there any mushrooms at all in a metropolis like Berlin? Of course there are! The seminars of Dirk Hamel and his colleagues will take you to places like Volkspark Rehberge, Großer Tiergarten or the Tegel Forest to scout for the best spots for mushrooms.

These mushroom seminars, sometimes done in association with the environmental group BUND are geared towards beginners and intermediates alike. In addition to suitable clothing, the participants should bring a well-ventilated basket, a knife and a paintbrush as equipment.

Additional seminars bring excursions to the greater Berlin area and mushroom cooking lessons at a Kreuzberg restaurant – the ideal place to make the best out of your edible spoils.
