The castle and park of Schloss Biesdorf is just four train stations away from Ostkreuz, but it seems worlds apart from the hustle of the capital. The bike tour starts at the palace garden of Schloss Biesdorf which is one of the most beautiful parks of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Past the fountains and the tea house you will get to Wuhleradweg – an official bike trail through Wuhletal. This very green area is incredibly beautiful and you will also pass a hiking path of about 18 kilometers along the way.
The next stop will be the flower gardens Gärten der Welt in Marzahn. From there you take Blumenberger Damm until you reach the historic center of Alt-Marzahn. This listed town, which now belongs to Berlin, was founded back in the Middle Ages. It’s a great contrast to the concrete tower blocks in the neighborhood.
The final stop of this bike route is the Wilhelminian time museum Charlotte von Mahlsdorf at Gutshaus Mahlsdorf. The exhibition is one of the most popular Wilhelminian style collections in Germany. The museum opens on Wednesdays and Sundays only, though.
