Hipsters, mommies with prams or a physician from the Urban Klinikum doing a round after his shift ended – they all meet along Kreuzberg’s Landwehrkanal. Running parallel with the water is a very frecuented jogging route.
Starting just behind Hallesches Tour this 3,5 km long track ends near Görlitzer Park in a kind of river delta, where the city limits of Kreuzberg, Alt-Treptow and Neukölln meet.
The track snakes along under weeping willows, swans paddle on the water, the beer garden Brachvogel, and the Restaurant Boat van Loon, the Ankerklause and more in cafés and restaurants on Maybach-Ufer or Paul-Lincke-Ufer pass by. The nice detail about it: plenty of places to take a break and rest are on the way. An added bonus: most of the track is level, so it’s also suited for jogging beginners.
