The Wildlife Park Schorfheide is located just north of Berlin in the region of Schorfheide-Chorin. Here, one can observe wildlife in large enclosures such as moose, lynx and wolves. The wildlife park has set itself the task of showing species that are native to the Schorfheide region for their protection, such as the wolf, otters or deer. But also, the park shows animals that are died out in the nature, such as bison, elk and the special Przewalski horse. In addition the Wildlife Park Schorfheide cares for the breeding of endangered domestic animals. Much of the vivarium is barrier-free.
The sprawling wildlife park offers a lot to do on a weekend trip. The Wildlife Park Schorfheide covers an area of around 100 hectares. Seven kilometers of trails can be explored by foot or by bike. Especially families with children will find a variety of activities such as a large playground, a petting zoo, a visitor’s house including the restaurant “Herb Kitchen” and a small village with field oven and campfire site.
The neighbouring climbing park offers sports in the middle of nature. There are 95 climbing elements up to a height of 12 meters. In addition to the usual sporting challenge, local flora and fauna can be explored playfully across the whole climbing park Schorfheide. Anyone older than 6 years with a minimum size of 1.25 meters can participate. So the wildlife park is the perfect weekend getaway for both – nature experiences as well as physical activity.
