A romantic lake overgrown with reeds and surrounded by weeping willows, many clean, undisturbed places and lush green meadows make the 9.5-hectare Fennpfuhlpark a wonderful resort.
Green spaces that look like a green oasis on the outskirts of the city: Fennpfuhlpark in Berlin-Lichtenberg is an idyllic park in the middle of Berlin that is not overrun. It was named after the Fennpfuhl, a small, beautiful lake with a swimming fountain, which forms the heart of the park. The local barbecue area is located directly on the banks of the Fennpfuhl.
You sit here on park benches in the shade under weeping willows at the lake, which is very relaxing or you go for a walk in the park, past some art objects and sports facilities, including a skate field with halfpipe.
An excursion is worthwhile for families with children, because for the small ones playgrounds with cable car were put on and there is a boat rental place. However, there are only a few rowing boats available.
Besides many different walking paths, playgrounds and sunbathing areas, which are perfect for jogging or walking, there is a sports field with areas for ball games as well as a facility for inline skaters.
IMPORTANT: Swimming in the lake is forbidden, as the water quality of the Fennpfuhl leaves much to be desired. Tip from the Top10 Berlin team: In summer you should not forget the mosquito repellent.
