Friedrichshain

The Strausberger Platz with its water fountains is located in the heart of Berlin, not far from Alexanderplatz.

The Strausberger Platz is located on the underground line U5 or a short walk away from Alexanderplatz. In the middle of place, surrounded by a roundabout, you can see a striking water fountain. The water fountain that bubbles in the background is the central motif of the photo spot. The Strausberger Platz offers a lot of variety for photography, because you can take pictures of the place from different directions – for example as a background when the zoom is focused on the water fountain or as a central photo subject – each photo of the Strausberger Platz is individual and different.

The Strausberger Platz is a very busy place as it is always hectic at this roundabout. This is where the Karl-Marx-Allee and the Lichtenberger Straße meet. You can see the TV tower from here if you look in the direction of Alexanderplatz. In the other direction you look to Friedrichshain. Strausberger Platz is surrounded by architecturally striking houses and the street exits look like gates.

It should be noted that due to the heavy traffic at Strausberger Platz and lack of traffic lights it is not easy to get into the middle of the place. The photo is better be shot from the pedestrian zone. A lens with sufficient zoom is recommended here.

Depending on the desired effect, the Strausberger Platz can be well presented in both, sunny and dull weather. The photo spot with focus on the fountain, however, is seasonal, since in winter no water flows from the fountain.
