Just about 4 stops away with the S-Bahn from Ostkreuz, you feel nothing of the bustling metropolis around you at Schlosspark Biesdorf. When strolling through this lovely green park, many sunny or more shaded picnic areas will spring to your eye. A memorial and a commemorative plaque tell you that the park and the castle-like mansion in it were once owned by Werner von Siemens.
A particularly nice picnic area can be found next to a murmuring fountain with a view of the castle where you can find actually a small café. And if you spread your picnic blanket in the rosarium, you will feel like far far away!
Should the weather decide to play some nasty tricks on your plans with a summer rain, a tea pavilion with a roof next to the castle will provide shelter from the weather.
Top10 Berlin insiders’ tip: Annually in May around Ascenion day the Schlosspark sees the Biesdorfer Blütenfest (Biesdorf Blossom Fest). The open air stage regularly hosts concerts during summer.
