Whether it’s fruits, vegetables, and homemade pasta or fish- and cheese delicacies – you’ll find lots of goods at the innovative weekly market at Südstern in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Located directly at the subway station Südstern (U7) the market invites you to stroll from one stand to the other, trying different dishes and just having a good time every Saturday from 10:00 am – 04:00 pm. Many of the specialties come from ecological and organic vendors of the region.
With just round about 35 stands it’s a very well-arranged market, but you’ll still get anything your heart desires and the quality of the products is of high standard – which is why some of the products might not be the the cheapest. Another plus definitely are the many possibilities of sitting down – perfect to try one of the baguettes with raclette cheese from Leopold’s Raclette, a fried potato patty or sipping on a good espresso.
The weekly market is located between the popular neighborhoods of Bergmannstraße and Graefestraße. The vendors really value their customers and appear very friendly and helpfully. There is hardly a better place to go grocery shopping on a Saturday.
