The Holocaust memorial close to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is visited by tens of people daily. But only few of the Berliners and tourists know that there is a free exhibition under the Holocaust Memorial.

An information center including an exhibition is located directly below the Field of Stelae in Berlin-Mitte. Visitors can learn about the persecution and murder of European Jews by the Nazis in four thematic areas here.

Exhibited are diary entries for example, letters and the last notes of victims. A number of Jewish family fortunes are retold here, the Room of Names is devoted to the short biographies of murdered Jews and historical film and photo material is shown in the “space of places”.

Free public tours and educational programs for students such as workshops or project days are part of the further offer.
