The big, bright rooms of Charlottenburg’s Bröhan-Museum hold furniture and entire room layouts with pieces from the era of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, all of it tastefully arranged. Floral elements and elegant objects, crafted with absolute precision enthral the visitor. Add to that living accessoires like elegantly curved lamps and vases and marvel at objects made of glass, ceramics and porcelain. But also table utensils of silver and metal show the development from craftsmanship to industrial production, from the Art Nouveau to Modernism.
Focal points of the collection are the works of the French and Belgian Art Nouveau, its German and Scandinavian counterparts and the French Art Deco. Current exhibition deal with subjects from modern design.
