The Pop-up Restaurant Fondette, located directly in the Rosenhöfe on Hackescher Markt, is entering its third round with the 2018/2019 winter season and brings a bit of Switzerland right into the heart of the German capital. Here, guests can enjoy cheese fondue and raclette with the best organic Swiss cheese in a wintry atmosphere.
The two hosts Yllnora and Simon and their team have created a small winter highlight in the new location. In addition to the restaurant with bar on two levels, the lovingly designed forecourt of the restaurant is particularly impressive: in addition to a small wooden log cabin, two original Swiss gondolas from Gstaad are also waiting here. While the cabin is large enough for groups of up to ten people, the gondolas can be occupied by a maximum of four people. The gondolas have a very special charm and are equipped with cuddly cushions and skins so that nobody has to freeze. The outdoor area of the Fondette also has a small market stall with crêpes, delicious mulled wine and other hot drinks, which can be enjoyed in the romantically illuminated courtyard.
The menu in the Fondette naturally focuses on Swiss cheese fondue, available as classic fondue, fondue with champagne or champagne and truffle, as well as raclette, served with potatoes, cornichons, pickled onions, mushrooms, pear, fig chutney and a homemade dip. Various side dishes, a small lunch offer and a selected wine list round off the offer.
After the winter season, which ends on 15 March 2019, the Fondette is transformed into Little Italy with Bella Vita & Piazza atmosphere on the terrace in the rose garden.
