Tucked away in a cul-de-sac behind Volksbühne, close to Sohohouse you will find this small Mitte bar at the end of Linienstraße between Münzstraße and Rosenthaler Platz.
The typical crowd of Bar 3 tends to be around 30 years of age, mostly of international origin and tends to stand around in small groups chatting with a glass of red wine of a beer in their hand after work. There are a couple of seating options in this U-shaped bar and also cushions on the window sills. The card of Bar 3 is replete with a variety of drinks – wine, beer – Bar 3 is even serving Kölsch beer from Cologne – whiskey and cognac. If you are looking for posh cocktails there, you are in the wrong place.
The creative crowd often swings by after a private view or an opening night of Volksbühne for an inexpesive drink discussing and chatting until the wee hours of the day. At first sight Bar 3 with its puristic looks and large windows comes across as a gallery with people standing in the street in summer. This bar is not suited for non-smokers, a real artists’ bar needs smoke to deserve its name.
Part of Bar 3 is also a restaurant, the “3” with its kitchen style being as international and multicultural as the crowd in the bar.
