With its Friday party series “Hip Hop Avenue” the AVENUE club promises the best Hip Hop and R’n’B tunes to blast the speakers. Next to current Rap hits they also play old school Hip Hop. The event’s first birthday was celebrated with performances by MC Fitti and Eko Fresh in December 2014.
And even outside its parties the AVENUE club is among the favourite places for celebrities and stars. The team of German football club Bayern München partied the night away here after winning the DFB Cup in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Since the AVENUE at Café Moskau is right across the street of Kino International, you can expect visitors of the International Berlin Film Festival Berlinale and famous faces from the movie world to drop in.
Parties and celebrities apart, this club also has a very interesting history. The AVENUE is located in the basement of Café Moskau, a listed building. The impressive building was constructed in the late 1950s as a Russian restaurant. In 2007, investor Nicolas Berggruen had the building thoroughly refurbished and renovated. The club’s interior links history with modern technical installations and a truly timeless design. The Berlin architect team Karhard signs for the interior, they have also planned and projected the Panorama Bar of electro club Berghain. The club room has apart from the dancefloor two modern bars and a separate smokers’ lounge. The owners of the new club are no unknow faces in Berlin. Until the end of 2012 they ran the Clubrestaurant Departement at Postfuhramt.
