Nomen est Omen: The Marlene Bar in the luxury hotel InterContinental Berlin is dedicated to the film diva Marlene Dietrich. This can be seen not only on various movie posters and the huge light natural stone fireplace provided with a Marlene lettering, but also on many small charming details. The coasters are printed with Marlene’s profile, the napkins are decorated with a special lettering, and on the drinks menu the beers advertise the Marlene Bar Pale Ale, which is especially brewed for the bar by the traditional Lemke brewery in Berlin.
The huge hotel, affectionately called InterConti by the residents of Berlin, is one of the capital’s key event addresses with exquisite facilities, even for large to very large events and congresses. The hotel’s Marlene Bar, with its 250 square meters and 120 seats, is therefore very spacious and also offers plenty of room for participants of trade fairs, congresses and conferences. Despite the size, the bar creates a pleasant atmosphere with good acoustics against the backdrop of discreet lounge music. The ambiance of a luxury hotel is appropriately elegant with classic black or red lounge furniture, high quality wood paneling and an excellently equipped bar area. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows ensure a very open-looking sense of space.
Marlene Bar’s impressive cocktail menu takes guests on a journey into the history of cocktails. The bar menu gives an insight into over 100 years of tradition and links the history of cocktails with the life stages of Marlene Dietrich. Guests will be inspired by the history and the original cocktail creations of the Marlene Bar, such as Marlene’s Mint Julep with bourbon, white cane sugar syrup, fresh mint and fresh lime juice.
