The dominant color in MacLaren’s Pub is green. Opened in 2011 by fans of “How I Met Your Mother” this Irish Pub not only addresses lovers of a good Guinness or a Newcastle Brown Ale, but somehow is a tribute to the American cult series.
The Pub at Boxhagener Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain is expressly NOT a copy of the New York Bar in the series, but an independent Berlin institution for Irish and internationals that are looking for a Berlin beer and good burgers. Burgers can even be delivered at home. The interior of the pub is cozy with green or wood-paneled walls, a lot of pictures and red chairs.
As usual in a good Irish pub people also come together for public viewing. The EM has been shown for example as well as the Super Bowl. Of course in MacLaren’s also the St. Patrick’s Day on March 17 and Halloween are celebrated extensively.
