Wedding

The Tipperary Berlin is a cozy Irish pub in Wedding with a large terrace and typical Irish extras like Steel Darts, Pub Quiz and live music.

The Tipperary Berlin proves that the Sprengelkiez and especially the Triftstraße are an upcoming Gastro line in Wedding. A number of new venues worth discovering opened here. Since 2013 the Irish Pub Trpperary is located on the sunny corner of Triftstraße and Tegeler Straße and contributes to the neighborhood’s revitalization. The proximity to Beuth Hochschule für Technik ensures student audience, but on evenings with live music and pub quizzes all age groups are represented in the pub.

Always on Saturdays at 8pm Irish Folk is played. Eight different bands alternate in the pub such as Liam Blaney, Joe Armstrong or Mee and Bobby McGee to just name a few. The beautiful Irish tradition of the pub quiz is maintained here on Mondays. Guests from the neighborhood show-up on Sundays to watch the German crime series “Tatort” together.

The boss of the pub Christian Schirren himself is not Irish, but a bred Berliner. The staff however for example Tom, Sean, Gary and Liam are almost entirely Irish and do expertly explain the drinks on the menu. The house brand is the Tipperary Red Ale that tastes especially refreshing on a hot day with a shot of cherry juice. Of course there is Guinness and Murphy and a few mixed drinks like the Black Velvet. This is a mix of Guinness and cider that first tastes dark and bitter and later light and fruity. Snakebite is a mix of Cider and Black Currant.

The staff of Tipperary is especially proud of their shots, for instance the Irish flag that is served in the Irish colors green, white and orange or Pralinchen, a little pick-me-up that is mixed from the Spanish liqueur 43 and an espresso. Another – especially tasty – drink is the Baby Guinness, which looks like a mini pint of Guinness, but in reality is a café liqueur (Kahlua) topped with a velvety layer of Irish Cream (Baileys).

On the menu there are homemade burgers (even a veggie burger!) and classics like different pies such as Shephard’s Pie, fish & chips or Irish Stew. The boss Christian cooks himself. Many Irish expats come especially to watch sports events like Bundesliga, Champions League or the Rugby World Cup.

On special Irish days like Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day the cozy Irish pub with neighborhood flair bursts at the seams.
