The world-renowned Friedrichstadt-Palast is a stage venue of superlatives. The large show productions, the guest performances, the shows for children selling out in a heartbeat and the Berlin Film Festival Berlinale bring annually around 700.000 visitors to Friedrichstraße 107. This traditional stage has seen performances by world stars Marlene Dietrich and Hildegard Knef, Shirley Bassey and Phil Collins. The large show productions at Friedrichstadt Palast with more than 160 participants (100 of them being artists) have secured it a place among the biggest ensuite-shows in the world!
The stage alone is 2.200 square metres big and features state-of-the-art technology. Worth mentioning is the movable water tank weighing 225 tons. Friedrichstadt-Palast is equally famous for its dance ensemble with its 60 members. Add to that the show band of the Palast and the young ensemble comprised of 250 kids from Berlin aged 6 to 16. In February Friedrichstadt-Palast turns into the biggest movie theatre in Berlin with the Berlinale Berlin Film Festival taking place.
In October 2018, the VIVID Grand Show celebrated its glittering world premiere in Berlin. The magnificent VIVID Grand Show is a declaration of love for life and surprises with exuberant sensory impressions. The Canadian Krista Manson, Artistic Director in Las Vegas for the long-lasting success of Cirque du Soleil’s show “O”, is responsible for the script and direction.
The show has again – as usual in the Friedrichstadt-Palast – extravagant, magnificent costumes. The spectacular hats, created by the most famous hat maker in the world, Philip Treacy, are especially eye-catching.
