Club Latino Potsdam: Salsa in Potsdam since 1996
Tatjana, Carlos, and Jochen founded Club Latino on a theater ship in 1996, with classes starting in 1997. This makes the club the oldest salsa venue in Potsdam. In November 2026, it will celebrate 30 years of salsa in the city with a festival at Lindenpark and the live band Tempo Havanna. The focus is on Cuban Salsa and Rueda de Casino, complemented by Merengue and Bachata. Courses take place at Lindenpark in Babelsberg and in the Motorhalle. Most students are between 30 and 60 years old.
Courses in Fixed Blocks and Parties with Instruction
Courses run in fixed blocks from Beginner I and II, through Intermediate and Advanced, to the Training Group. A course includes eight 60-minute sessions and costs 68 Euros per person. Many come without a fixed partner, and the school assists with matchmaking. Registration is via contact form, email, or phone. At the Potsdam Salsa parties, dance instruction is free, and admission is often 5 Euros. Since 2010, ALEX in the Wilhelmgalerie has been considered the city’s salsa living room.
