The burlesque ambience of the Provocateur Hotel in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, which is reminiscent of the Golden Twenties in Berlin, is also perfectly reflected in the bar of the hotel. Heavy velvet curtains, red velvet sofas, hidden corners, dark tables, dim lighting and the large golden bar with hanging, flickering candles in the center. The Provocateur Bar pays equal attention to the mood as well as to the extravagant cocktails. The busy bartenders mix exceptional cocktail creations named Pigalle, Applause or Metropolis that surprise with unusual ingredients such as Artichoke, Campari Espuma, Prickly Pear and Aloe Vera. The cocktails with individual food pairing were developed especially for the bar and have nothing to do with the well-known cocktail standards.
On the weekends a DJ puts on electric beats and in the evening the bar quickly fills up with a connoisseur audience from the neighborhood and visitors from further away who want to be seduced by the wicked atmosphere of the bar. Visitors to the hotel’s adjoining Asian restaurant, Golden Phoenix, by famous chef The Duc Ngo, come to the bar for a drink after dinner. An evening at Provocateur Bar takes you back to the era, when variety shows and theaters boomed, feather boa, sequined dress and pearl necklace set the style and stars like Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo set trends.
The Provocateur Bar was named “Hotel Bar of the Year” and “Bar Team of the Year” at the Mixology Bar Awards 2019.
