Since 2014, the concept store for sustainable fashion and more at Dieffenbachstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg excites. The owner Suza Podgajski comes from the textile marketing branch and has been modeling for some time and owner Marc Schmitteckert has previously operated a fashion trade agency.
The dream of the own business was fulfilled in Kreuzberg. The theme of the concept store is rather broad, but still focused on sustainable, high-quality fashio. Suza looks after the ladies’ fashion and can tell a story to every designer they have in the store. Behind Misericordia stands a Frenchman who lives and produces in Peru. In the summer, they wear parts made of Pima cotton, extremely soft cotton, which is considered to be the silk of South America, and in summer wonderful strings made of sustainably produced alpaca wool.
FLAVIA ARANHA, a designer from Brazil, who works predominantly with cotton, linen and silk, paints all fabrics exclusively with natural colors and plants.
Even small Berlin labels are available at homage, like pieces in strong colors by Daniela Salazar made from organic hemp. MODT, a US American designer, who lives and produces in Berlin, designs light graphic patterns, which are very suitable for anyone that likes something more exciting.
The clothes have a high-quality and elegant look: Eco fashion has changed and no longer fulfills the jute bag image. You can also see this in the male collection at homage. The White Briefs produces classic basics such as T-shirts and long sleeves made from soft organic cotton. The men’s fashion label Hannibal produces men’s fashion made of cotton, linen and wool and silk, which is wearable, even in the office. In the autumn / winter, Suza and Marc are looking forward to the new collection from ecoalf, a recycling company from Spain that recycles fishing nets and plastic waste from the sea.
In addition to fashion, the store also offers bags, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, home accessories and even furniture by designers, who are personally familiar with the store owners. Since the cellar of Dieffenbachstraße was once a small theater, the two owners dreamed of a future event space to be used for art exhibitions and other events.
